My sister asked me to make this as a Christmas present for her octonauts obsessed son.
I spent a long time musing over how to do it but the actual sewing didn’t take very long.
I used a plain navy hoodie for the base and made a collar out of denim (because that’s what I had). I stitched it onto the jacket flat. If I ever do another one I’d stitch it on sticking up and then iron it down to make it more like an actual collar. For the hood I used a cheap baby blanket and used the shape of the actual hood to make a pattern.
The hat is denim with fleece inside to stiffen it, joined at the back with velcro. I couldn’t figure out how to put an octopus on the hat so I stitched a plain circle on to the centre so my nephew can draw his own on.
