Baby Headband

**I’ve finally got hold of all of the December photos so am going to be updating every day or so until they’re sorted.

This is a headband that I made for my beautiful niece.

I used a headband I already owned and cut the elastic to make it the right size. The instructions are here

The fabric is Hungry Caterpillar fabric. It looks even cuter on!

Busy bags – Button Snake

I’m gradually working through the photos taken with the other camera. The pictures are better than with mine but it’s more of a hassle to get the pictures off the camera – particularly when a certain person can’t remember where they were saved!

For an explanation of what a busy bag is see this post

This one also came from money saving mom. It’s just a ribbon with a button sewn on the end and some pieces of felt with slits in. Eli finds it pretty tricky to do and hasn’t spent a great deal of time playing with it yet.

I think it’s one he’ll grew into. Maybe I’ll try and make him some different activities to do with buttoning.

If you’ve any ideas let me know.

Busy bags – Cupcakes

A busy bag is basically a bag with a self contained activity in it. I use large freezer bags because they’re cheap and see through. The idea is you can grab a few bags if you’re going on a long journey or going somewhere where you’re going to be sitting still for a while. Of course I have a pinterest board!

Many of the things I made last week have gone into our busy bag box (also known as ‘mummy wants to hide in the kitchen with a chocolate bar box’)

These cupcakes came from money saving mom. I made them in a summer and they are still a firm favourite.

I keep meaning to make pizzas and ice creams using the same idea.

Pinterest Challenge Day 6 – lacing pictures

Inspiration

Img_0364

I’ve had this in my to do list since before I started using pinterest so this might be a bit of a cheat! They were made with foam sheets as in the original blog and I used google images to find the outlines. They were really easy to make and are going to be a great ‘busy bag’ toy.

So that’s the end of pinterest week. I’ve really enjoyed it. Most of the things I’ve done have taken a small amount effort and very little money but we’ve got 6 new things to play with and six things crossed off ‘the list’

I hope you’ve enjoyed it, I’m going to try and do something at least once a week or so until the next holiday.

I think someone’s getting sick of the constant photo taking.
