I am a total sucker for an inspirational quote. When I was at uni I used to write them onto post-its and stick them above my desk. I wish I’d kept them, I’d be interested to see what my 20 year old self thought was worth keeping. Of course these days I have a pinterest board.
I made this simple print on the computer over the weekend. I made the background using the drawing carl app on the ipad it’s a free app that Ben downloaded for Eli but I love the different brushes and stamps.
I like using the computer for creating things because it’s much easier to keep playing around until you get it right. Maybe I’ll look into getting a more grown up painting programme – if anyone had any recommendations I’d be grateful. I imported the image into word to add the text and simply printed it onto ordinary paper and put it in a frame we already had.
Before I graduated uni my grandparents gave me a card with the quote ‘go confidently in the direction of your dreams,’ at the time it meant alot, though mostly I think I loose sight of the intention. I think the full quotation is:Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.Henry David ThoreauI ve still got the card somewhere, my granddad’s died last week but his and my grandmother’s inspiration is with us all.
That’s a beautiful one.So sorry for your loss, hope you’re holding up ok xx
