Laundry Bag

My baby sister is going to Australia with her church for 18 months and neededed a laundry bag to take with her. I hunted around on pinterest (I love that site!!) and found this. It turns out that American kids go off to college with laundry bags so there were quite a lot of ideas out there.

I’m really proud of it :). It was technically more difficult than anything I’ve done. It was a more proffesional pattern than I’ve followed in the past. There’s a button hole for the cording to come through. My sewing machine doesn’t do button holes so I had to learn how to do them using zig-zag stitch. There are french seams – I didn’t know they existed prior to this!

Also my sewing machine is tiny. (I didn’t want a really expensive one when I first started out because I assumed it would be a fad!) There was a lot of fabric. I had to overstich the seam in the middle which basically involved putting the sewing machine inside the bag!

The fabric came from ikea. The towel doesn’t match, my lovely hubby is trying to help me improve the photography.
