Robot Day post 2: Robot Play-dough

This is the second of my posts about our robot theme (first post here)

I’ve had this robot play-dough idea from Counting Coconuts pinned for a while. I  made the play-dough following these directions and added a load of black food colouring and silver glitter, I was really pleased with how the colour turned out.

This is the first time I’ve made play-dough on the hob. I’ve always done it in the microwave because I assumed it took forever on the hob. I have memories of my mum standing over it for ages to while it was cooking. In fact it only took around 5 minutes. I guess my mum was probably making massive batches and 10 minutes seemed like a long time when I was small!!

I tried to encourage E to make his own robot shapes but he wasn’t up for it at all so we used our robot cookie cutters (I actually bought them on sale at hobbycraft but they don’t stock them anymore). We added embellishments from the robot sensory tub

This is a Mike Wazowski robot apparently!

I’m planning on setting up a new play-dough activity each month so this counts as the first one!

The reason play dough seemed to take ages is because my recipe said you must not leave it once it started cooking, so no interuptions were allowed and that means 5 minutes is ages!!

Lol I thought it was something like that! x
